Changing Lives. Building Futures. Capital Campaign
On Monday, April 10, the YMCA will launch the public phase of our “Changing Lives. Building Futures.” Capital Campaign to renovate and expand our current facility, with a goal of raising $1 million.
A very successful direct campaign to local donors has already raised nearly $9 million for the project. With the remaining $1 million, we will ensure the project’s viability and we expect to start construction this fall.
While these generous donors have stepped forward in a major way, we must have the support of our entire YMCA family to be able to complete our vision for a dramatically expanded facility that will help more people on their journey toward a better life. Over the last 30 years, we have from time to time added programs and services to keep up with the community’s needs. This campaign, however, marks our largest investment to date.
Plans for the renovation include a new state-of-the-art healthy living (fitness) center, youth center with licensed child care and after school care, a multi-sports complex, welcome center, member lounge and multi-generational community room with teaching kitchen.
We also plan to partner with Marshfield Clinic Health System to offer the Youth Net after school program, as well as innovative community wellness programs. Additional space will allow a partnership with Wood County Head Start, providing support to families and giving children the critical early learning foundations to prepare them for school. We will also work with the Marshfield School District to provide space for their Alternative High School.
During the construction phase, you will still have access to the Y. We will keep you updated on the changes/progress and know that we are always available to answer any questions. We anticipate that the building will be complete by fall 2018.
Facility renderings, construction updates, campaign news and information on how to donate to the “Changing Lives. Building Futures.” Campaign will be available soon.
Again, thank you for your support of the Y. Please contact John Nystrom (email@example.com) or Rochelle Hill (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions.
