ADULT SPORTS: VOLLEYBALL SCOREKEEPER

Hours: Evenings - Monday-Thursday - 6:00-9:30 pm
Duties/Responsibilities: This position will run from September 27, 2021 – May 19, 2022. We need scorekeepers for multiple leagues. A variety of leagues offers great flexibility in scheduling.

Duties include:
• Scorekeeping/Refereeing – knowing the rules and enforcing sportsmanship and respect in the
Adult Volleyball League.
• Carrying yourself in a professional manner.
• Positive interaction with the league director, facility attendants, participants, and
spectators.
Education Level Desired: Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Experience Needed for Job: We are looking for a hard worker who is passionate and knowledgeable about the game of volleyball. Past scorekeeping experience preferred, but not required. Candidates must be extremely personable, outgoing, reliable and trustworthy.

FINANCE DIRECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Finance Director oversees the financial matters of the Marshfield Area YMCA, Inc. in a manner that helps ensure the Association fulfills its mission while meeting its fiduciary obligations. Our team is dedicated to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develops and maintains measurement systems and reporting for financial key performance indicators and strategic plan objectives.
2. Monitor cash management and assist with forecasting.
3. Manage accounts receivable and billings; and accounts payable and payroll system, ensuring on-time payments to employees and vendors.
4. Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in accordance with current accounting standards and best practices in non-profit accounting.
5. Monitors financial operations, prepares timely monthly analysis and financial reports for the Board, executive staff, and operations staff.
6. Facilitates the development of the annual operating budget and monthly spread, including all location budgets. Works closely with operations staff to ensure that branch budgets are well-planned, realistic, and prepared in a timely manner.
7. Maintain official financial records of the Association to meet legal and Association requirements.
8. Reviews, updates, and/or develops internal control systems for the YMCA’s financial processes, ensuring both appropriate design and actual effectiveness of the controls.
9. Oversees the annual financial audit by independent accounting firm and timely preparation of annual tax returns.
10. Conducts governmental reporting and other internal/external reports to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
11. Monitors all banking and financing agreements and processes, including covenant and compliance reporting.
12. Manages systems and processes related to agreements, contracts and vendor relationships.
13. Assist with and supports Association and program specific special events.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A passion for the Y’s mission and cause to strengthen the Foundations of Community.
- Possess strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles, financial and accounting reporting systems, and federal and state financial regulations.
- Experience in general business matters: budget development, financial reporting, cash management, business taxes, banking, and debt financing instruments.
- Knowledge of payroll and payroll tax reporting.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Physical Requirements: ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 20 pounds is necessary.
Education Level Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressive responsibility in accounting and financial management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

3. Maintain confidentiality with all HR interactions and be a role model following all HR policies and procedures.
4. Fosters the development of staff at all levels in the organization by engaging in ongoing feedback and coaching.

10. Oversees HR systems and employee records to ensure accuracy and improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Ensures timely and accurate submission of data requested by the EEOC, YMCA of the USA, Department of Labor, State of Wisconsin, etc.
11. Develops staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs. Identifying resources for all levels of jobs.
12. Assist with and support Association and program specific special events.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.
- Knowledge and professional experience in planning and policy, talent management, selection, compensation, benefits, training and staff development, employee relations, and performance management.

FACILITIES: HOUSEKEEPER (Nights & Weekends) - Marshfield Location

Hours: Part-time; averages 20-25 hours per week. Shifts vary week to week but generally M-F 6:30-11:30pm; S-S 6:00-10:00pm

Duties/Responsibilities: The Nighttime Housekeeper will be part of the team responsible for the general cleaning of the YMCA facility including floors, carpets and windows. This staff member will also assist the Facilities Director as needed. The Nighttime Housekeeper must have knowledge or a strong willingness to learn how to use various types of cleaning equipment and chemicals. This staff member will be required to follow a strict sanitation schedule and checklist set by the Facilities Director. Self-motivation and attention to detail is a must.

FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT - Marshfield Location

Hours: Part-time mornings; averages 20 hours per week.

Duties/Responsibilities: The Food Service Assistant will help with the preparation and serving of snacks and meals in our Youth Center. In addition, they will help with dishes and the cleaning of the kitchen. This staff member will also assist the Food Service Program Director as needed.

HEALTHY LIVING: GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR

Hours: Part-time, 2-10 hours per week depending on availability; hours preferred are between 5-7am, 8-10am, and 4-7pm

Duties/Responsibilities: Motivate participants with enthusiasm and encouragement to help them reach the next level of fitness. Engage members and participants as you deliver classes with enthusiasm, leadership, and knowledge of the components of a safe and effective fitness program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Motivate and collaborate with people of all abilities, ages, opinions, and backgrounds to ensure a positive experience that meets their unique needs.
2. Build collaborative relationships with participants to grow class attendance.
3. Instruct participants on proper form and safety.
4. Enforce prescribed safety procedures and rules of good behavior and courtesy within the class.
5. If your personal schedule takes you away from a scheduled shift, find a substitute instructor and provide a prepared lesson plan for them to ensure the class members are given the high-quality lesson.
6. Take class attendance on a daily basis.
7. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with coworkers and members. Make class participants feel welcome, safe and engaged.
8. Actively participate in required staff trainings and meetings. Maintain required certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Due to the instructional nature of the position, the Instructor must actively lead and demonstrate all exercises and choreography associated with the class. This will require significant use of hands, arms, and body for 30-60 minutes at various degrees of physical assertion, as well as the ability to lift up to 20 pounds (depending on the class) to set up and put away equipment.
- Must be able to speak clearly and project your voice while performing physical exercises.
- Occasional local travel between centers and/or other locations within the community may be required.
Education Level Desired: - Basic knowledge of the components and techniques for teaching fitness classes and the ability to instruct and keep cadence with music required.
- Must demonstrate strong skills working with and motivating people in a positive manner.
Experience Needed for Job: No experience necessary. Willing to mentor the right candidate. Must have strong communication skills.
Specific Training Desired: Must obtain YMCA Group Fitness Instructor certification within six months of employment and CPR certification within 60 days of employment; training provided. Certain classes may require additional certification prior to employment.

At the Y, we support members in achieving their personal wellness goals as a part of our commitment to improving the nation’s health and well-being. The Wellness Coach will deliver an exceptional member experience in the way we engage with members:
• Support members on their personal wellness journey to reach their goals and achieve healthy spirit, mind and body.
• Welcome members into an environment where they feel respected and physically and emotionally safe.
• Connect members to the people and resources that help them achieve their goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Build effective, authentic relationships with members. Welcome new members; greet and engage members and guests; conduct interviews.
2. Conduct new member wellness orientations, learn member’s wellness goals, and create and support an engagement plan that helps them achieve those goals. The engagement plan should include various Healthy Living Initiatives as deemed appropriate to the member’s goals including: Personal Training, Small Group Training, and Group Exercise; provide appropriate marketing and communication materials.
3. Employ approved wellness strategies that ensure participant’s health, safety, and well-being as they achieve their wellness goals.
4. Work closely with Personal Trainers, Group Exercise Instructors, and Yoga Instructors to provide best collaborative member experience.
5. Develop a good understanding of all the Y has to offer, help members build connections with all relevant program staff, and share the many reasons why the Y is So Much More!
6. Maintain a safe and clean environment in the Healthy Living and Strength Training Center. Stock resources in each area and enforce guidelines and safety rules. Inform Director immediately of any equipment issues or breakdowns, unsafe conditions or problems.
7. Monitor and enforce age restriction in centers. Make appropriate recommendations for those not meeting the age requirements.
8. Maintain a consistent presence in the Healthy Living and Strength Training Center and conduct frequent walk-throughs to be accessible to members and guests.
9. Support fundraising initiatives.
10. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
Education Level Desired: High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least 18 years old. Experience in wellness coaching or wellness environment field preferred. Completed coursework (e.g. 2-year degree) or equivalent experience and education/certification in health and wellness, personal training, or related field is helpful. Training is available to the right person with a passion for the Y, health and wellness, and serving others.
Experience Needed for Job: Demonstrated passion for health and wellness and motivating others in a healthy lifestyle is critical. Must possess enthusiasm, self-direction and excellent communication and people skills.
Specific Training Desired: Certifications must be obtained and maintained within the first 90 days: CPR, AED, First Aid (training provided). YMCA Foundations of Strength & Conditioning (if not a certified Personal Trainer), Child Abuse Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens.

PERSONAL TRAINER

Hours: Part-time - Marshfield Location
Pay: Competitive pay, FREE Y membership
Duties/Responsibilities: Inspire members and the community to reach new heights in their healthy living goals as you listen attentively to their needs, aspirations and fears, and customize a program to help them achieve more than they thought possible. Promote Personal Training at the Y to achieve revenue goals and increase your own earning potential. Connect members to the Y community and Y programs.

SCHEDULE:
Part-time with potential to train full-time as you build your client base. Requires flexibility to work schedules that meet the needs of the clients at our Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA-Marshfield location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Build collaborative relationships with members and community/corporate partners to promote individualized and group personal training services and other Y programs/services.
2. In addition to personal training sessions, promote the Y and Personal Training through classes, demos, and fitness analyses.
3. Create individualized or group goal-oriented training plans.
4. Conduct personal training sessions and group training sessions.
5. Exemplify professionalism and servant leadership in the areas of fitness, exercise and basic rehabilitation techniques.
6. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with coworkers and members. Make class participants feel welcome, safe and engaged.
7. Keep good records of member goals and achievements to evaluate program effectiveness and progress toward goals.
8. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet client needs.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workloads to meet timelines and maintain confidentiality of personal information required.
- Understanding of exercise science and how it relates to working with “Health Seekers” of all ages and abilities required.
- Personal training sessions may call for you to demonstrate exercises (crunching, squatting, bending and moving), lift weights, and move/set up equipment up to 50 pounds.
Education Level Desired: - A current personal training or related certification accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) is required. Must maintain required CEC’s and certifications throughout employment.
- A degree in Exercise Physiology or related field is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certifications are required within the first 60 days of employment.
Experience Needed for Job: Minimum six months’ experience in personal training or wellness coaching preferred.
Specific Training Desired: YMCA Strength and Conditioning certification and participation in Listen First and Model of Influence Training is required within the first six months of employment.
