ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE REFEREE

Hours: Part-time Seasonal; Thursday nights September-May. 4 games per night
Pay: $9 per hour and includes a YMCA Membership
Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for knowing the rules of basketball and enforcing sportsmanship and respect; conducting yourself in a professional manner and positive interaction with participants, spectators and other staff.
Education Level Desired: Must be at least 18 years old; hard-working, personable, outgoing, reliable, passionate and knowledgeable about basketball. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience Needed for Job: Past referee experience and CPR certification preferred.

ASSISTANT CHILD CARE TEACHER

Pay: $9-$10 per hour and includes a YMCA Membership
Duties/Responsibilities: Working with the Lead Teacher, the primary responsibility of the Assistant Child Care Teacher is to make a difference in the lives of your children and families. Assistant Teachers are critical to the success of our child care program. You will assist the Lead Teacher in all aspects of the care of the children. This includes: implementing curriculum, actively interacting with the children, monitoring activities to ensure safety, nurturing the children through encouragement and gentle redirection, assisting in classroom set-up, clean-up and maintenance. Most important of all, you must have a passion for working with children. This position requires creativity, flexibility, high energy levels, patience, strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and demonstrated success as a team player. You must be able to easily move through all areas of the child care rooms and communicate effectively verbally and in written form with children and adults. You must be able to routinely go up and down stairs, lift, carry and load equipment, furnishings, and program supplies(up to 50 pounds.)
Education Level Desired: Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and the ability to meet state requirements for education and experience as required by Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. We are willing to work with individuals who are in the process of completing their requirements. Candidates must also be 18 years of age or older.

GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR

Hours: Evenings, 1-2 classes per week
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Plan and instruct safe and effective group exercise classes using appropriate choreography, depending on class style.
Experience Needed for Job: One year of group instructing is preferred, certification in specialty format (Accredited Group Exercise, Zumba)
Specific Training Desired: CPR certified

LIFEGUARD

Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Must maintain a safe aquatic environment according to the standards for certification. Additional facility-specific training will be provided upon hire. Must be willing to provide excellent customer service while staying vigilant and rescue-ready.
Education Level Desired: Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and must be at least 16 years old.

PRYME TIME AFTERSCHOOL CARE TEACHERS & ASSISTANTS FOR 2019/2020 SCHOOL YEAR

Hours: Monday-Friday 2:30/2:45-6:00 pm *willing to offer flexible schedules
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Do you enjoy working with school-age children? Join our Afterschool staff to assist in implementing a child care program at local elementary schools. Ensure the safety of children and attendance, lead and help run programs designed to engage school-age children in physical activity, social activity and academic/homework, and promote a positive environment for all students and staff in attendance. The YMCA will help train the right individual to meet qualifications. The YMCA provides afterschool care at 5 elementary schools in the area - Grant, Lincoln, Washington, Nasonville and Stratford (Zion Lutheran Church.)

SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELOR

Hours: Monday-Friday - June 1-August 28, 2020 - 20-40 Hours Per Week
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Day Camp Counselors are required to implement programs designed for youth ages 5-12 enrolled in the YMCA Summer Day Camp program. This program is designed to provide direct supervision of a group of children through a variety of engaging activities and projects for both large and small groups specifically geared toward being outdoors. Camp staff will also be responsible for ensuring the safety of participants while they are enrolled in day camp both on premise and during field trips. This position requires that the camp staff participate in activities with enrolled children which can range from quiet time to assisting with swim lessons. You must be energetic, dependable, patient and ready to have a fun summer.
Education Level Desired: Must be 18 years of age or older.

SWIM INSTRUCTORS

Hours: 4-20
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Must enjoy children and have ability to demonstrate and instruct safe swimming skills, while upholding YMCA values of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility
Education Level Desired: WSI recommended. If not, certification will be provided.
Experience Needed for Job: Must be at least 16 years of age. If under 18, must possess current lifeguard certification.
