CHILD CARE: FULL-TIME LEAD CHILD CARE TEACHER

Hours: Full-Time Hourly
Pay: $12.25-$13.25 per hour. Includes benefits and a YMCA Membership.
Duties/Responsibilities: HIRING INCENTIVE: $1,000 funded by the Wisconsin Department of Children & Families (DCF) Child Care Counts: COVID-19 Supplementary Payment Program.

The primary responsibility of the Lead Child Care Teacher is to make a difference in the lives of children and families. Duties include: planning and implementing age-appropriate and exciting classroom curriculum that actively engages the children, keeping the children safe while building independent problem solving skills, nurturing the children through encouragement and gentle redirection, maintaining a clean, orderly and inviting classroom full of activity choices, and building relationships with their family members. Most important of all, candidate must love children and have a passion for teaching. This position requires creativity, flexibility, high energy levels, patience, strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and demonstrated success as a leader and a team player. Candidate must be able to observe/evaluate groups of children by sight, sound, and active interaction. Candidate must be able to easily move through all areas of the child care rooms and communicate effectively verbally and in written form with children and adults. Candidate must be able to routinely go up and down stairs, lift, carry and load equipment, furnishings, and program supplies (up to 50 pounds).
Education Level Desired: Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and the ability to meet state requirements for education and experience as required by Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. Candidates also must be 18 years of age or older.

CHILD CARE: FULL-TIME ASSISTANT CHILD CARE TEACHER

Pay: $9.70-$10.70 per hour. Includes benefits and a YMCA Membership

Assistant Teachers are critical to the success of our child care program. You will assist the Lead Teacher in all aspects of the care of the children. This includes: implementing curriculum, actively interacting with the children, monitoring activities to ensure safety, nurturing the children through encouragement and gentle redirection, assisting in classroom set-up, clean-up and maintenance. Most important of all, you must have a passion for working with children. FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT

Hours: Part-time mornings; averages 20 hours per week.
Pay: $10-$11 per hour and includes a YMCA membership.
Duties/Responsibilities: The Food Service Assistant will help with the preparation and serving of snacks and meals in our Youth Center. In addition, they will help with dishes and the cleaning of the kitchen. This staff member will also assist the Food Service Program Director as needed.
Education Level Desired: Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience Needed for Job: Education, training and related food service work experience preferred.

MEMBER SERVICES: BUILDING SUPERVISOR

Hours: Part-time nights and weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities: The Building Supervisor is responsible for engaging with and providing quality customer service to our members and guests. This person is also responsible for opening and closing the YMCA, monitoring security procedures and facility operations. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: building relationships with our members and guests, selling memberships, registering members and participants for classes and programs, supervising staff and volunteers, overseeing the building and grounds, and ensuring that the safety standards and policies of the YMCA are adhered to.
Education Level Desired: Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Needed for Job: Customer service experience preferred.

HEALTHY LIVING: WELLNESS COACH

Hours: Part-time
Duties/Responsibilities: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. At the Y, we support members in achieving their personal wellness goals as a part of our commitment to improving the nation’s health and well-being. The Wellness Coach will deliver an exceptional member experience in the way we engage with members:
• SUPPORT members on their personal wellness journey to reach their goals and achieve healthy spirit, mind and body.
• WELCOME members into an environment where they feel respected and physically and emotionally safe.
• CONNECT members to the people and resources that help them achieve their goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Build effective, authentic relationships with members. Welcome new members; greet and engage members and guests; conduct interviews.
2. Conduct new member wellness orientations, learn member’s wellness goals, and create and support an engagement plan that helps them achieve those goals. The engagement plan should include various Healthy Living Initiatives as deemed appropriate to the member’s goals including: Personal Training, Small Group Training, and Group Exercise; provide appropriate marketing and communication materials.
3. Employ approved wellness strategies that ensure participant’s health, safety, and well-being as they achieve their wellness goals.
4. Work closely with Personal Trainers, Group Exercise Instructors, and Yoga Instructors to provide best collaborative member experience.
5. Develop a good understanding of all the Y has to offer, help members build connections with all relevant program staff, and share the many reasons why the Y is So Much More!
6. Maintain a safe and clean environment in the Healthy Living and Strength Training Center. Stock resources in each area and enforce guidelines and safety rules. Inform Director immediately of any equipment issues or breakdowns, unsafe conditions or problems.
7. Monitor and enforce age restriction in centers. Make appropriate recommendations for those not meeting the age requirements.
8. Maintain a consistent presence in the Healthy Living and Strength Training Center and conduct frequent walk-throughs to be accessible to members and guests.
9. Support fundraising initiatives.
10. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
Education Level Desired: High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least 18 years old. Experience in wellness coaching or wellness environment field preferred. Completed coursework (e.g. 2-year degree) or equivalent experience and education/certification in health and wellness, personal training, or related field is helpful. Training is available to the right person with a passion for the Y, health and wellness, and serving others.
Experience Needed for Job: Demonstrated passion for health and wellness and motivating others in a healthy lifestyle is critical. Must possess enthusiasm, self-direction and excellent communication and people skills.
Specific Training Desired: Certifications must be obtained and maintained within the first 90 days: CPR, AED, First Aid (training provided). YMCA Foundations of Strength & Conditioning (if not a certified Personal Trainer), Child Abuse Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens.

HEALTHY LIVING: GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR

Hours: Evenings, 1-2 classes per week
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Plan and instruct safe and effective group exercise classes using appropriate choreography, depending on class style.
Experience Needed for Job: One year of group instructing is preferred, certification in specialty format (Accredited Group Exercise, Zumba)
Specific Training Desired: CPR certified
