ASSISTANT CHILD CARE TEACHER

Pay: $9-$10 Per Hour with Benefits Included
Duties/Responsibilities: Working with the Lead Teacher, the primary responsibility of the Assistant Child Care Teacher is to make a difference in the lives of your children and families. Assistant Teachers are critical to the success of our child care program. You will assist the Lead Teacher in all aspects of the care of the children. This includes: implementing curriculum, actively interacting with the children, monitoring activities to ensure safety, nurturing the children through encouragement and gentle redirection, assisting in classroom set-up, clean-up and maintenance. Most important of all, you must have a passion for working with children. This position requires creativity, flexibility, high energy levels, patience, strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and demonstrated success as a team player. You must be able to easily move through all areas of the child care rooms and communicate effectively verbally and in written form with children and adults. You must be able to routinely go up and down stairs, lift, carry and load equipment, furnishings, and program supplies(up to 50 pounds.)
Education Level Desired: Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and the ability to meet state requirements for education and experience as required by Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. We are willing to work with individuals who are in the process of completing their requirements. Candidates must also be 18 years of age or older.

BUILDING SUPERVISOR

Hours: Part-time/Hourly. Nights & Weekends
Duties/Responsibilities: The Building Supervisor is responsible for engaging with and providing quality customer service to our members and guests. This person is also responsible for opening and closing the YMCA, monitoring security procedures and facility operations. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: building relationships with our members and guests, selling memberships, registering members and participants for classes and programs,supervising staff and volunteers, overseeing the building and grounds, and ensuring that the safety standards and policies of the YMCA are adhered to.
Education Level Desired: Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Needed for Job: Customer service experience preferred

CHILD WATCH STAFF

Hours: 8:00 am-11:00 am (2-3 days a week). Possible evenings 5:30-7:30 pm M-TH
Duties/Responsibilities: Provide care for children attending Child Watch while parent/guardian is working out at the YMCA.
Responsibilities include:
*Supervise and monitor children
*Maintain safety and cleaning standards
*Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies
*Maintain positive relations with children, parents, supervisor, and other staff
*Coordinate and arrange the Child Watch environment

GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR

Hours: Evenings, 1-2 classes per week
Pay: Based on experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Plan and instruct safe and effective group exercise classes using appropriate choreography, depending on class style.
Experience Needed for Job: One year of group instructing is preferred, certification in specialty format (Accredited Group Exercise, Zumba)
Specific Training Desired: CPR certified

PERSONAL TRAINER

# of Openings: 1
Hours: Part-time, may include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Contribute to the overall YMCA mission of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Personal trainers are responsible for planning and leading customized individual or small group sessions for clients in a safe, enjoyable and positive environment. Personal Trainers are expected to provide excellent customer service, promote YMCA services and programs, and recruit clients.
Experience Needed for Job: A Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification is required. One year of experience in the health and fitness field is preferred. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Specific Training Desired: Safety certifications for CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention must be acquired before an applicant can begin working. Training opportunities for these safety certifications are available through the Y.

LIFEGUARD

Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Must maintain a safe aquatic environment according to the standards for certification. Additional facility-specific training will be provided upon hire. Must be willing to provide excellent customer service while staying vigilant and rescue-ready.
Education Level Desired: Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and must be at least 16 years old.

SWIM INSTRUCTORS

Hours: 4-20
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: Must enjoy children and have ability to demonstrate and instruct safe swimming skills, while upholding YMCA values of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility
Education Level Desired: WSI recommended. If not, certification will be provided.
Experience Needed for Job: Must be at least 16 years of age. If under 18, must possess current lifeguard certification.

SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELOR

Hours: Monday-Friday: 20-30 Hours Per Week
Pay: Based on Experience
Duties/Responsibilities: The Y is seeking dependable, fun, loves working with kids, energetic candidates for our Summer Day Camp program. Camp staff implements programs designed for youth ages 5-12 who are enrolled in the Y summer camp program and provides direct supervision of a group of children through a variety of engaging activities and projects for both large and small groups specifically geared toward being outdoors. Camp staff will also be responsible for ensuring the safety of participants while they are enrolled in the day camp both on premise and during field trips. This position requires that the staff participate in activities with enrolled children which can range from quiet time to helping with swim lessons.
Experience Needed for Job: Interested applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
